These last couple of months, I’ve enjoyed posting my thoughts on politics and Christianity. Both are subjects I feel passionately about, but both are also problematical. My early blogs on both subjects were fairly non-controversial, but to continue on either I would undoubtedly begin to develop animosity among those who disagree with my positions.
Since I’m trying to build a platform as a writer, I don’t need to be antagonizing readers and turning them away from me. If I were going to be writing non-fiction books on politics or Christian commentaries, I’d welcome the controversy. My audience wouldn’t be those who disagreed anyhow, and the controversy would draw a following who did agree with me.
Since my audience will be novel readers, hopefully I’ll be able to appeal to many who would firmly disagree with my politics but who will enjoy reading my fiction. To that end, I am changing my blog to be more non-controversial and, hopefully, more entertaining. The new title of the blog is “Remembrances.”
On Mondays, I’ll be writing about interesting people I’ve known. On Wednesdays, it will be interesting places I’ve been. On Fridays, I’ll discuss interesting things from my childhood and other earlier eras.
Hope you will all visit the new blog and enjoy the new format.
